Solved: Ubuntu apt-get update problems

After using the Ubuntu 12.04 version for quiet some time without any hustle some update problems came up and the system did not want to update anymore. Every linux user knows these errors all to well. When a simple apt-get update does not solve the problem, it’s a good idea to reinitialize the whole package system.

You need to remove all temporary package information and download them again. Just rename the storage directory of apt and create the initial directory structure. Execute the following command sequence in a shell:

If everything went well, you can delete the old storage directory by executing the following command:
